Deer Valley 10's and 11's advance to Title game!

7/13/2010

All three Deer Valley all star teams were in action last night and 2 of the 3 came out on top and are headed to the Title game!

The Majors team lost in a battle with Arrowhead by a score of 5-1.  The bats just never came alive and giving up 3 in the 1st inning was too much to overcome.  he 12's had a great run in the tournament and have nothing to hang their heads about.  Arrowhead WILL win the District and more than likely will WIN the State tournament.  SO to get beat by the eventual Stare Champs 5-1 is certainly ok!

The 11 Year old Stars whooped the SideWinder stars last night in a 5 inning run rule by a score of 10-0.  Carey Brooks, Tommy Lowe, and Austin Stewart all combined for the NO HItter!  Jace Montgomery, Tommy Lowe, and  Max Peters each had RBI doubles that broke the game wide open.  The 11's will now play in the title game tomorrow night against the stars from Goodyear!  Game time is 7PM on Field 6 at Rio Vista.

The 10 Year old all stars have also advanced to the title game after squeaking out a 8-6 win over Sidewinder.  After taking an 8-3 lead into the bottom of the 6th the all stars from Sidewinder would not go away.  With the bases loaded and 2 outs, pitcher Cody Garrettson got a pop out to end it.  Dawson McCarville was outstanding on the hill throwing 5 innings while allowing just 3 runs. Brandon Moore, Jacob Vesecky, Dawson Mccarville keyed the bgi inning when Deer Valley scored 5 to take the 8-3 lead.  Next up is the title game Wednesday night against Rio Vista who beat  the all Stars from Arrowhead 8-1. The game will be played at 6PM on Field 5 at Rio Vista
