DV All Stars off to a great start!

The 11 year old ALl Stars saw their first action of the tournament last night as they squared off against Shaw Butte. 
Carey Brooks took the hill and was completely DOMINANT holding Shaw Butte to 0 runs through 5.  Leading 1-0 the kids from Shaw Butte battled to score 1 and tie the game heading into the bottom of the 6th.  With 2 outs Jace Montgomery hit a laser to the wall to put the winning run on 2nd.  Next up was Max Peters and he delivered with a double of his own down the right field line for the walk off win!  Carey Brooks struck out 14 hitters on the night as Deer VAlley prevailed 2-1!  The 11's are back at it tonight as they face off against the kids from Rio Vista at 5:30. 

The 10 year old All Stars game was one of a different kind as a total of 38 runs were scored between both teams.  The final score was 22-16 in the 3 hour and 30 minute marathon of a game.  The Deer Valley bats were red hot as they mashed the ball up and down the lineup.  Jacob Vesecky hit a grand Slam in the win and had 10 RBI's on the night.  The 10's now have the rest of the week off as they prepare for their showdown next Tuesday with Villiage Meadows.  The 10's are now 2-0 in the tournament and in the drivers seat to secure the #1 seed.
